You need reception cards - these provide the reception information. The invitation itself just lists the ceremony information and is separate from all the items on your list. You will also need response cards and envelopes - these people use to tell you if they're coming. You don't need informal cards or multi-purpose cards unless you're planning on providing pre-printed directions to the ceremony and/or reception, but many halls have these cards already so unless you have to have them match, I'd check with the reception hall first. You only need envelopes for the response cards and the invitation itself. HTH.

ETA: you could also use the multi-purpose or informal with envelopes to make matching thank you cards, but these might also be included in your photo package.

Reception cards are needed if your reception is in a different place than your ceremony. So - my whole wedding was in one place, so all I did was put a line 'Reception immediately following' at the bottom and no separate card was needed. However, if you're getting married at a church, you'll need to order reception cards.

I don't know what the difference between multi-purpose and informals are - I would say that either of them could be used as Thank Yous if you want your TYs to match your invites.

If your ceremony is at your reception hall, you dont need reception cards either......

First, let me say that the invites are BEAUTIFUL! Now as for your questions:

Informals - those are your thank yous.

I have no idea what multi purpose cards are.

Here's what I got:

Invites
Invite envelope
response card
response card envelope
invitation envelope liner
thank yous

If you're having your reception in a place other than where you're getting married, you'll need a reception card.

Some people print up direction cards to stick in the invitation, but your hall will provide that for free. JMO, but I didn't see the point in spending $$$ on that.
