i understand it's symbolism, and i think its beautiful, but personally, i would not want to use them on mail, nor would i want to receive mail that has it.

Why could they not have done this with the hands, referring to god, not everyone that died that day believed in god.

whether or not I believe in god...the first thing it said to me was that god caused it...

not sure how the Post office gets around this...they have a weird connection to the govt...but they have christmas and hannukah and kwanzaa stamps...

it was just the first impression that I got from the picture...the picture is just kind of morbid IMHO...

as for the PO...they are part of the US govt...but they are their own entity as well..they are self sufficient...thats what I meant about the weird connection...that they probably can have religious connotations b.c of it

Hrm..

Nope I can't say I like it. I wish we'd stop trying to memorialize the event by showing this kind of stuff. Why not just SHOW the darned Trade Centers in all their glory standing proud. If it depresses people well I think this sorta stamp is depressing too.

Especially the Angel come from above. I know I know Ive seen ALL the posts and emails and chain letters about how God was there that day. I know all about the thousands of lives saved, even my own, but God had very little to do with the cause of this event or the fight afterwards in my opinion.

Im just fed up with this.

If not the Proud Trade Centers then how about just A stamp with all the countries affected? Why is it ok to show the pentagon but not the trade centers? Tons of symbolic icons have been made with reference to all of the tragedies from 9/11. Why not use one of those?

This one just creeps me out. Looks so fake and greasy sorta of commercialism of what New York is and how we supposedly need the country to feel sympathy for us.

Sorry I don't like it nor will I buy those stamps. I have the DC stamps right now and we had Breast Cancer support stamps before. If this means I end up with Hannaka (sp?) Stamps again like last year, then fine.

Thumbs way down from me.
