sorry i'm nuts today -- last invite question

sorry i'm nuts today -- last invite question

i swear, i'm gonna have a breakdown.

my fiance hates the poem, even though i think it's super cute.

i e-mailed her and asked for her suggestion. she said she could do that additional card, but suggested that i just add 'outdoor cocktail hour and formal reception to follow.'

thoughts on that? does this solve my dilemma?!

I personally think it solves your problem....if people don't get it then, there's not much else you can do but provide sweaters and jackets for them with is bananas!!

What does your FH think of that idea since he doesn't like the poem?

I think that solves the problem. People should be able to dress themselves according to the weather (although since apparently 1/2 of them can't send back a response card, who knows )

I was thinking of doing a shawl basket (same weekend with outside ceremony and CH if its nice out) but didn't know if it would be a waste if 1) the weather is warm; and 2) people come dressed for the weather. (My invites don't say anything about the outside ceremony and CH, but the ceremony will be short and there's also an area that they can go inside for the CH if they want)

i honesty don't think you'll need to tell guests to bring a jacket. It's october. I'm sure most of your guests will have a jacket anyway, and if a woman gets cold, they can wear their dates jacket!

yes! do this! then you don't even have to worry about it!!!

I know people can dress themselves, but I went to a wedding in late October and had no idea the ceremony was outdoors and it was freezing! I had a shawl but it wasn't enough! I wish it would have said outdoor ceremony on their invite, so I'm sure your guests will appreciate the gesture

that's a cute idea, but like you said, if it's warm that weekend, it's a waste.

people never cease to amaze me and i can't expect people to know that there will be an outdoor portion of our wedding (unless i tell them).

i mean, it's one thing to run from the car to the RH without a jacket, but i don't want people upset that they're outside for 1.5 hours without one and it's cold.

i guess i was just trying to do the right thing and give people the heads up, that's all.

I think its a great idea to let your guest know they will be outside for that long.

I have been helping with all your planning and I did not even know this detail.

haha true... ok if you're concerned, then i think just writing 'outdoor ceremony and cocktail' will suffice!
