I used to have the roomba. It was ok for picking up light messes but I have a lab now and it would NEVER pick up his hair!

I got the Bissel Healthy Home and I love it. I tell FH that I love my vacuum more than I love him!

FH has the roomba. It takes forever to go around the whole room, it's so frustrating to watch it get stuck in a corner sometimes. I'd rather use a floor vac.

I have roomba and I love it! With 2 long haired cats in the house, it does a great job! I have no complaints what so ever, but I can't speak for scooba.

OMG this is pathetic but I have BOTH and as I told KarandTodd way back i'd sell my OVEN before getting rid of them
If I had to pick ONE though, i'd keep the ROOMBA, it does a good job of picking up pet hair, works on our wood floors, tile kitchen floor and bedroom carpet, and scoots its way back to the base for recharging when its done. Neither of them will replace a real vacuum and/or mop, they're not meant to, you will still have to drag those out for really 'thorough' cleaning...
BUT, with my work hours, FH's complete inability with all things domestic, 2 doggies, oh, and WEDDING PLANNING they really help with the dustbunnies and assorted goo on the floor.

Pets can be a little freaked out at first (they're both a bit loud) but mine love them now!!
HTH!!

Hey we bought the roomba...Im sorry to say it was a huge waste of money. It does the little things but it doesnt have any power, so it wont pic up dust or animal hair, and it broke and now it does the shimmy lol
We registered for the dyson vaccuum after weeks of research and its the best thing we got on our registry...simply amazing. It gets everything, I have severe allergies and ever since we have been vaccuuming every other day with the dyson, i havent had any allergies in this apartment!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DYSON. look it up!!!

I read that they are good, but only for light jobs.
