My MOH just emails and asks what time is my shower, (my mom and I planned it all) so I told her 1pm-5pm. She asked BECAUSE her BF was planning his daughter’s birthday party and she wanted to juggle both events, which means come 5pm she will fly out of my shower and will possibly be there late as his party starts at 12PM I think. So she wants to be at both events, but I told her when we booked the date that I will need her the whole day, my mom may want her to help decorate of do little odds and ends, I don’t know but I asked that she free that day for the shower. And now she comes with this? And she had the nerve to say she was discussing it with her boyfriend and he said aren’t showers usually just 2 or 3 hrs…OMG I wanna smack him so I politely reminded her that she’s not just a guest, she’s my MOH. I knew she sucked at it but dam..give me a day or 2 of your time…
am I being a total biznitch??

Re: Sorry long vent!!!
No you are not!
That is really rude of her You already talked to her about beforehand, so she and her BF were well aware of it. Her BF should not be trying to pursuade her either into changing plans because of his own selfishness--by saying what he did say to her, he is trying to manipulate her. I can totally understand why you are being upset and had every right to call her out on it--she is the MOH and should get over it and be more resonsible.

No you're not sweetie! I can't believe she's doing that! Not that children's b-days aren't important, but it's not her daughter and her and her BF knew about your shower and how she was needed ALL day before the party was planned.
I hope everything works out!

I can totally understand why you would be annoyed, but I have to play devil's advocate for a minute. Is it possible that she didn't feel very involved in the planning and didn't realize that she was supposed to help with setup and at the shower for the whole day? Generally the BP plans the whole shower and I wonder if she wasn't a little hurt by not being involved. I'm just trying to present another point of view, but again, I can totally understand how that would upset you.

I get what you’re saying but luckily that isn't my case. She is all new to the wedding arena, she's never been a MOH or even a BM, I knew that when I asked her to step in after my original MOH bailed on me (long story) She doesn't have the finances or the time to plan a bridal shower so I left that up to my mom and I'm helping so it wont be such a burden and I get to do things my way
