Sorry, venting about my MIL

Sorry, venting about my MIL

OK, so I just got an e-mail from my MIL saying that she is going to be going to Hawaii the 29th of this month to visit her parents and will not be returning until the 12th of January - MY DUE DATE IS THE 18TH!!!!!! and I had my son a week early! She said that I need to wait for her - ARGGGHHHHH, are you kidding me!!!!!

Should I even say anything or just let it go?

I know at least my Mother will be there, I know she'll be afraid to leave her house around my due date ,

My DH hasn't really said much, but I am sure he must be upset about it, this is her first grandchild!

its her first grandchild. wow im shocked!

i dont think you should say anything HOWEVER i think your DH should express his feelings to his mother if he is upset.

Im sorry that she is being like that....

That is so disappointing esp for your DH. I agree I would have you DH express his feelings though - not you - unless you are really, really close to her.

I agree, thats upsetting - But I would let it go on your part but as mentioned I would have your DH speak with his mom and understand why she has to leave so close to the week that you are due....

edited for spelling.

I would not say a word to your MIL about this. If she wants to chance missing the birth of her first grandchild then that is very sad but let your DH deal with her on this. The baby will come when she is ready so it isn't up to grandma or you...she should know that.

I'd just send back a message that says in a joking tone that when the baby is ready to come, that you don't think you'll be able to stop it. Other than that I'd let it go. Unless your husband truly needs her for emotional support during the delivery, there is no reason she has to stop her life in case you are early. I'm sure she'd be on your doorstep to share the excitement as soon as she returns!

I would let it go. IF your DH wants to say something to her on his behalf, let him.
It will be her loss if she doesn't want to wait around for the big day. I think its rather strange but people are weird sometimes.

She's got nerve...but to each his own, ya know. Don't let it get to you.....I'm sure it's important to her to see her own parents as well.

Re: Sorry, venting about my MIL

I just wanted to say sorry about your MIL and to say that my in-laws will also be away up to and maybe past my due date as well. It's their first grandchild, but its their annual trip to Florida, so that takes precedence!

I mentioned to DH that I thought it was weird and a little rude for them to not want to be around, but like Shana said, to each his own....
