sort of a spinoff but- who is leaving for the HM right away?
I am just wondering if this is common. (not like it matters because our plans are made!)

I will be at the airport 6 hours after the reception and after seeing the other thread I am kinda freaking out about it!!! I didnt really want to leave so early but its a cruise so i dont have a choice in time

We're going to spend maybe 2 or 3 days after the wedding on vacation. We'll go for a longer honeymoon sometime later.

I read the other thread and started freaking out too!! I'm sure it will be fine, and there will be plenty of time to relax and take everything on once the HM begins

Not right away, but 2 days later... Our wedding is on Friday and we're leaving on Sunday! This way we have a day to relax a bit and spend time with our family and guests that are still in town!

I am leaving on the 14th. We wanted to leave the day after the wedding but the flights we cheaper so we decided to wait.

it was people who are not leaving the next day. A lot of people chose to wait days and even months. It kinda freaked me out because I not only have to plan the wedding but pack as well and leave only a few hours after the reception

We're leaving the next day. Reception ends at 11pm Sunday night, our plane leaves at 8:05 Monday morning! If I waited a day or two I know I would feel like I had to take care of things... you know, clean up, organize, etc. All I want to do is relax!! That stuff can wait.

our wedding is on saturday.. reception ends 11pm.. we're heading to a hotel for the night then the next morning having a big breakfast after-party with all of our out of town guests we dont see often.. then leaving for vegas on a 4pm flight

Our ceremony will be on a Saturday and we're leaving that Tuesday. I figure we'd leave some time to get those last things in order.

Everyone I know suggested we take some time to chill out, deposit whatever gifts we get, etc. Our wedding is on a Saturday, we're planning on leaving on a Monday. That is if we ever decide what type of HM we're taking :(

Our wedding is on Saturday....we're leaving on Tuesday for the HM. FH said that he would like to deposit our money and have some time with OOT guests. I'm all for it. Plus I really want to do the brunch the next day with family.

Married on Saturday, leaving on Monday. I wanted at least 1 day in between to finish up last minute stuff and clean up from the wedding! I would never be able to leave my house in an uproar, go on vacation and be able to have a good time. I'd be crazed knowing the house is dirty lol

You know, as a little girl, I always thought the bride and groom are taken off to the air port right from the wedding. Like a fairy tale. I wonder if that's how it used to be. Like their bags are packed and waiting in the limo. Ha ha!
