Those of you who use a shorter name than your given name (ex. Catherine=Cathy, Donald=Don) When you say your vows are you going to use your full given name or the shorter version. I have never called FH Gerard,he has always been Jerry and I think it would be weird calling him Gerard. It would feel like I am talking to someone else. Am I making sense? Does anyone else feel this way?

Shoot I just read your post over and you were talking about vows.
I'll probably use his full name even though I call him Mike mostly. Just feels like if I'm going to vow to him that I'll be with him forever that I should use his full name.

haha mine is Gerald...and i call him Gerry as well. I only call him Gerald when hes being mean or when im trying to get his attention and hes not listening lmao Im still up in the air about what to do. I think it would be nice to say his actual birth given name...but really...everyone knows him as gerry...so we'll see

No one ever calls FH Gregory, so it would sound weird to me.
I'll ask him what he prefers. We put Greg on our Save the Dates, he probably will want that for the vows as well.

I guess I'll probably have them saying Jennifer? I'm not sure. I REALLY REALLY prefer 'Jen' but I'd like to hear my new legal name outloud

We call each other by our full names alot. And anything formal I always use Kimberly and not Kim.

This is really funny, because my name is Theresa, but only go by that at work, so if you ask FH what my name is he will only tell you Teri. He doesn't even really realize that's not my real name. So for the ceremony he will probably say Teri because it will confuse him too much to say Theresa

FH is not called by his full name by anyone...but I feel it is more 'official' to use it...

Yup funny story, we were going out for about 6 months and FH left his cell phone at my house, so the next day he was going to pick it from me at work. So his coworker was suppose to call me before FH came to my job, so I knew he was coming, I didn't get the call, so I didnt know. FH comes to my job and goes the receptionist and I'm not list as Teri and the receptionist is an idiot and they couldn't figure out who he was looking for. FH getting mad, says she drives whatever car, the receptionist goes to the maintenance dept to ask who drives that car and they get me after FH has been waiting a half hour now.
When I go by him he is sooo mad and he's like what is your name she was showing him the phone list and he couldn't find me on it because I'm listed as Theresa, so FH wanted to see my drivers license and then he started yelling at me saying that I lied to him about my name, it was soooo funny

Terri is my name, but thank goodness it's not short for anything for me.

We're probably gonna use out full names. A lot of people call him Russ and me Dani, but it sounds better with Russell and Danielle.
By the way, for those of you who are putting your 'non-full' names for the vows, what did you write on your invites? I'm just curious?

After posting this i asked FH what he wants to use. And surprise... He wants Gerard and Cecelia- not Jerry and Celia. So now I am going to start calling him Gerard so I dont feel funny saying it day of.

I always call FH by his full name, so he's not the problem, I am. I hate the way my name sounds in English - 'Regina', I prefer Reg/Regy. FH calls me only Reg, and my parents and family pronounce my name differently, even when used fully, in our language.... I don't know.... probably will go with the full name cause that's sounds official, tho I really don't like it

Funny..no one but FH's job call him by his given name..I met him as Tito and hadn't really thought about it...I'll have to ask what he prefers..on the invities it will be his given name...some people will probably be like Who is she marrying
