I called my church last week to schedule an appointment to meet with the priest. I asked the receptionist if my date was available but she said we had to wait to speak with the priest. Well, a week later, still no call back. I called today and I spoke with a different person. Good news is that my date is available. Bad news is STILL NO CALL BACK!!!!!!! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm really thinking of calling another church.

that sounds annoying and unprofessional. i havent had this problem but maybe u can go to the church at a time when the priest will be there...? sunday afternoon maybe.......

Someone else was talking about this recently... why can't churches make phone calls... Honestly I would like to know what priests do all day that they can't call people back... I don't get it.

It was also happening to me. Its something common with all the churchs. I just keep calling back and leaving messages until someone gets back to me

I would seriously just go to the church and have them check right in front of you.
I know at my church they have a master book, so they should be able to immediately see if your date is available, however sometimes they like to make you come in so they can discuss stuff with you.

I would like to know this too! I can't imagine them being sooo busy they can't call back for weeks.

i went to the church like 3 times until i met the lady who is in charge of booking weddings. she is barely in the office and its a PITA just be persistent!!

Ugh my church was like this, I didn't get a call back for TWO WEEKS! And like you, they wouldn't even tell me if the date was available. If your church is sentimental then I would wait, if not then go somewhere else.

This may sound bad but it seems like if you know the priest and or go to church every week to have his ear, they respond to you faster. Sad, but true. Most churches are very short staffed and they utilize everyone to capacity. Try to be patient and if you have time, visit the priest you want to preside and see if you can walk him to the office to get his assistance.

yes, the priest at my church was so difficult to meet with....we met 3 times before he actually put me in the calendar....
but we were persistent bc its the church where i grew up and where my fam has been going forever...
anyway, good luck...maybe try visiting there instead of calling?

Honestly, our church was the only one who gave us a problem during this whole wedding planning process, so I def feel your pain
