Sort of WR..I'm pissed!!!!

Some of you may remember I ordered my wedding bands through Ice.com. Well the one for FH was perfect, but mine didn't go well with my e-ring. So their policy is that if you return it, to send it through an insured carrier, such as FedEx, DHL or UPS.

Well I sent it back using DHL since I had opened an account with them. This was my first time using it. I made sure all of the information was correct, and put the shipment protection value at $500.

Well DHL screwed up somehow and sent it to the wrong address!!!! I had it addressed to Champlain, NY, and they delivered it to some place in Williston, VT!!!! How the hell do you screw up so badly as to deliver a package to the WRONG STATE!!!!

I have called DHL to complain. They said since it was a place of business they delivered it to, they will make an attempt to retrieve it, and if they can't they will pay for the ring. But Lord knows how long this could take!! Someone out there in VT is walking around with the wedding band I tried to return!!

I notified Ice.com and they are issuing credit since I provided proof that I attempted to return it. But this still pisses me off!! This was my first time using DHL and now I don't think I will ever use them again!!!

That's rediculous! There is no excuse for that type of incompetance.

I would write a letter to their corporate headquaters. I've done this before with a few companies and it really makes your voice heard loud and clear.

I work for a very large camera company and I deal with carrier claims allllll day! This sort of thing happens much more often than you think... we have over $500k in open claims with carriers. They all make mistakes.

Sometimes the carriers lose the packages and don't even have a clue where they are! Sometimes packages are shipped from Long Island intended for Connecticut and UPS or FedEx will route them through Hawaii to get there!! Very strange, but it happens.

If they can't retrieve the package, they will give you the $500. They have to. I wouldn't bother writing a letter or doing anything like that unless they refuse to refund you the $.

What probably happened is the driver had your 1 package and maybe 25 packages going to VT and yours got mixed in somehow.
