I have man hands...very very short nails...cant get them to grown past the fingertip
I was told that if I get tips they would grown and then they can apply acrylic to my real nails....is this true?
Ive always wanted longer nails but never knew anything about going to a nail salon and what I should ask for?

I had the same problem...I started going for regular manicures on a weekly basis and my nails have gotten in great shape.

It's true that your nails will grow under the acrylics and then you can put acrylic over your natural nails but this will not give you nice nails. Your natural nails will be paper thin and brittle from the tips. If you remove the acrylic, your nails will probably peel right off too.
I agree with the above poster - the best way to get your nails in good shape is to take a multivitamin and get weekly manicures - you'll see a big difference.

Take Prenatal vitamins! I promise it works, your nails and hair will grow and will be nice and shiny

ok good..i didnt really want fake ones cause they get in my way and make taking out my contacts really hard

I put on tips for my friends wedding and by the next night I needed them off (they were driving me crazy!) and in a days time they had ruined my nails. Too me, not worth it and I'll NEVER put them on again!
I have 'man hands' too, as I also like to call them... there is a solution made by Sally Hansen that makes your nails grow very quickly. My friend uses it and the results are amazing. I am planning to use it before the wedding along with a strenthening coat to keep them from bending or breaking. I will get you the name and let you know!!
