South Beach Diet

South Beach Diet

Danielle bought the SBD book tonight. We were at trader joes and the cashier was talking about the diet...So we went across the street to the vitamin store and bought the book.

I started reading the book, and I have to say that the diet sounds really good. It is almost like Atkins, but with Atkins you cannot eat any carbs at all...With SBD you can eat carbs but just good carbs, and not for the first few weeks.

How many people here are on SBD?

What is a sample menu of what you eat during a day?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: South Beach Diet

My brother and sister-in-law did South Beach. She lost 15 pounds, and he lost 22! I think they had eggs for breakfast, salad with balsamic vinagrette for lunch, and fish or meat for dinner, with veggies...

Sorry I can't be more specific. Good luck! I know it works, but it is hard work. They said they were at the supermarket every other day.

Re: South Beach Diet

It's actually not too much work

Breakfast: eggs mostly or fat free plain yogurt (I flavor mine with either equal or a very small amt of vanilla extract). I bring the yogurt with me and the vanilla too. Or a buy the eggs at work at the cafeteria. Or bring in hard boiled ones. On weekends I also have turkey bacon.

Lunch: Salad with basamic vinegar and broken up pieces of turkey bacon or tuna fish or salmon.

Dinner: Salmon, turkey burger, lean meat and as a veg I have broccoli or asparagus or sliced up peppers or onions and mushrooms or string beans.

Of course I haven't done this in a month. I have to start again tomorrow. I gained 5 lbs since last month and I'm devastated

Re: South Beach Diet

Why start now....Christmas and new years is coming...I would wait until after the holidays are over...I would still eat light and not go crazy every day though...If you know what I mean.
