South Beach diet

Anyone done this diet, and have any feedback? Good or bad? I've been counting points for years, and weight watchers just doesnt seem to be working for me anymore. Figured its time to try something different.

I have done it and it worked for me. I lost like 15 lbs from it and it helped me to feel healthier. Cutting out all carbs for two weeks was like a cleanse for my body. You just have to be careful when you incorporate carbs back in, make sure to put back in healthy carbs and not just go back to old eating habits because its easy to gain it all back.

It worked for me while I stuck to it. But I fell back into my old carb habits. When I was on it I dropped about 10lbs. I'm actually going back on if you want to be my diet buddy. I have some of the books if you need recipes.

I'd love a diet buddy! I'm going to start on Saturday...I'm reading the book and am starting to get psyched about.

Re: South Beach diet

yay! another south beacher!

I actually just finished phase 1, and I lost 6 pounds!!!

I thought that it was going to be hard.. but it's actually kind of easy. I loved eating my favorite foods everyday -- meat. and cheese. haha

The only thing that stinks is breakfast, I ate eggs everyday and now I can't even look at another egg! (although they were quite filling)

Lets start a SB diet support group.. we can all support each other!

Sweet! I think I'm going to start back on Phase 1 since I stopped the diet over 2 months ago. I know you don't have to but I think I need it.

What does it entail? I may be interested. I've never done SB because I've been told it's very expensive to get the foods they need you to eat....

I'm reading the book now, and I also joined online. It doesnt seem like it would be more expensive, it would just be different foods. The first 2 weeks you are allowed almost no carbs or sugar, then you gradually introduce it back into your diet.

Good to know, thanks! I thought about core, but I think I just need to get away from WW for awhile altogether

Does it cost anything to join online?

I've been on it for 3 weeks, BUT not totally strict. During the first two weeks, no carbs whatsoever, but every once in a while I have a piece of fruit. I'm still doing phase one because I feel much healthier. Last week I was bad and had a piece of pizza, I felt so disgusting and full. I really dont mind it at all. the first couple of days are really hard, but once you get past that, it gets much easier. I weighed myself on the wii and it said I only lost 1 pound But I saw someone I havent seen in a month and she told me I lost a lot of weight, so IDK

I have lost over 40 lbs. on the SBD in the past year and a half; it's definitely not a fad diet that you can go on and off; it's something you have to make a commitment with if you want real results (more than 10 lbs I would say); FH does it about half the time and his weight goes up and down; it's really tough to get into the routine but once you do it is totally worth it! it definitely helps to have support so try and find someone to do it w/you. Good luck!
