A friend of mine is looking at a house in the South Country school district...anyone know if this district is good??

I went there
its very diverse and a north/south of the tracks kind of district. So you get a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds...

It's definitly not top rated, and home prices aren't going to me inflated because of the school district, but I won't say it's bad. It's better than others, but it's one of the districts that is headed downward from what I hear from people with children in district.

No, it is in the Bellport area. My MIL works as a TA at South Country Middle School. Very diverse population. Doesn't have the best reputation because of some families that live in the Bellport area. But, on the flip side there are kids from Bellport village (wealthier area). So, I say, districts change over time. I don't see it going 'down hill' per say, but that depends on the kinds of families that begin to work their way into the neighborhood. There are some beautiful parts of Bellport and they are really trying to clean up the not so great areas.
