We are thinking of doing this as part of our honeymoon.... could you girls tell me pros and cons, and if you think that it is good for a honeymoon or too many kids and stuff? Thanks!

My FH proposed to me while we were on a Southern Carribean Cruise. I loved it. We used Princess cruise lines, the food was awesome, even though their was over 2000 people on board, it didn't feel like that at all. We went at the end of May and there wasn't that many kids. The whole thing is very relaxing, I loved being able to go to island that we wouldn't have otherwise ever gone to. Our ship left from San Juan, and then went to St. thomas, st. kitts, Grenada, isla margarita, and Aruba. There were a lot of newlyweds onboard. The staff was great, the shows were fun. The nightlife isn't that exciting, but we enjoyed it, and it allowed for us to get up and go exploring on the islands everyday. We also did a number of ship sponsored shore exursions that were awesome...kayaking, sail and beach party, horseback riding. After that cruise, i dont' think i would go back to the carribean, unless it was on a cruise.

For our honeymoon, we went on Carnival Destiny which goes to St Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba for our honeymoon. We couldn't decide on an island to go to, so it was a great way for us to see a bunch of places. At the end of the cruise, we stayed in San Juan for 4 more days. We stayed at the Wyndham Condado Hotel and Casino.
We had a great time. I would recommend a room with a balcony, it was so nice to be able to open the door and get some air. There were kids on the ship but all the activities we participated in had little or no kids. The food was good, so was the service.

I have been on three cruises and they are awesome!!! They have honeymoon packages as well. It would be great because you can see a variety of different places. My fiance proposed to me on our cruise to Bermuda in June. The best part is that it's all inclusive except for drinks. This helps with not having to find food all day and night, so you save in that area. As for too many kids, I have taken Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruise lines and there was not really a kid problem. They have programs for kids all day so you rarely ever see any. In my opinion Celebrity is the best. I have never been on Carnival but hear that it is more of a party ship....lots of young people. I know people who have taken carnival and other lines and they have said that the service and food quality on Carnival is not as good as the others. But if your looking for more of a 'party' ship then they are the line. Good luck. If you have any more questions you can FM me.

I am getting married the weekend after you, and FH and I already booked our Southern Caribbean Cruise. We are going through Royal Caribbean. I would recommend them or Celebrity as I have done both and enjoyed it. No matter what ship you are on there is going to be kids but they have activites and you rarely see them. Good luck in deciding.

i went on a southern carribean cruise out of san juan with my fiance in january. We had so much fun. We stopped at St. Thomas, St Martin, Antigua, Tortola and Martinique. We hated Martinique- but that could have been because it was raining that day. The rest of the islands were beautiful and we had so much fun.
We took Norweigan Cruises, which is really great because they had free style cruising. That means that you dont have a specific time that you have to eat, and you dont have to dress up for dinner. There are plenty of choices when it comes to dinner....and if you feel like dressing up, you can. I would definately suggest Norweigan. The staff was great, the ship was clean and beautiful. I would definately take a Norweigan Cruise again.

We are booked on a Southern Caribbean Cruise on Royal Caribbean for our HM. I have been on 5 cruises and we can't wait.
We got a great deal! Definitely the best HM for the money!!!!

I have traveled the s. carribean two times via cruise- both out of san juan.
we did the destiny from carnival and royal carb's adventure of the sea.
i would def. recc. the adventure of the sea over carnival. it was unbelievable!

We are going on a Royal Carribean cruise from San Juan this October.
I was a litle worried about there being too many other people, but we ddin't have 1 place we wanted to go, and there isn't a lot of research or planning needed with a cruise & you can adjust how relaxing or adventurous of a trip you have based on what activivites you chose to do or not to do.

That would have been hysterical if we had been on the same one! We went at the end of May. My boyfriend sneaked the ring onboard with him. We had a great time, I loved it.

We had our HM on the Golden Princess a month ago. We did the So. Carribbean and had a blast. The nightlife was a little dull, but we still had fun and we ate like pigs! We booked another cruise for the eastern carribbean for next oct. (10/29-11/5) on the same cruise line, same ship. I wish we had the $$$ to do 2 every year. Well, maybe in the future.

I took the same cruise with Royal Caribbean for my honeymoon. We had a great time! Always food, and always something to do. I like cruises cuz you get to go to more than one island. The excursions do get pricey, but you can always do your own things on the island. Good luck with your decision!
