Spanx/Undergarment Assistance

My dress is in and I need to go get my undergarments...I'm quite chub and don't have the biggest ta-ta's....I'm planning to go to Mary's or Georgette's and get a corset w/ some 'umph' for my ladies....I'm hoping to wear Spanx with that....

anyone done this? I'm thinking Spanx (the ones that go up to your tata's) with the corset over it? What do you girls think?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question...I'm lost and trying to find boobs and fat squishing devices ASAP!

I'm wearing the Higher Power Spanx with my corset and it looks good. I also tried the one that just go up to the waist, and I liked the higher ones better. I got the corset at Marys and I love it. The ladies there are awesome. They'll definitely find something to give you some 'oomph'

Now...the big decision: higher power panties or the slim cognito super beast sucker inner spanx!

I wore the slim cognito AND a long line bra under my dress and it was perfect.

I needed the long line bra to give my boobs a lift so that the bodice of the dress looked right (a regular strapless bra didn't hold them up right) and I wore the slim cognito to avoid the thigh chubb rub

There's a funny pic from my wedding when they said, girls pick up your skirts... higher! And my MOH said, higher? If we do that you're going to see all our spanx! ALL the girls wore spanx (different kinds) under the dresses!

ETA: This is the funny picture - I was laughing cuz MOH had just made the comment about all of us wearing spanx.

and ps - you were a gorgeous bride!

I am small on top and had cups sewn in.. and I wore the spanx that go up to what would be the bottom of the bra to the mid thighs with my dress to ensure a smooth line under my dress.

Be careful if you use a corsette that you can't see the lines of the corsette under your dress.

I've been thinking alot about this too. I've never worn Spanx and wanted to try it...want to suck everything in but my dress has a corsette built in and i was told i need a long line bra... sounds like way too much going on inside my dress

I was wondering if you have a corset style dress should you just wear a long line bra?

I am also a bit worried about sweating my BUTT OFF in too much CLOTHING! LOL

I know! I wish gowns came w/ a 'what you need under this beast to be comfortable 101 guide'....I'm so afraid of being hot all day...and corsets suck but I think I need one...I'm not sure about a corset style gown....

i have a corsetted gown and having double set of oomph sew in due to all of oomp being in my rear and not my top ha!!!!!

I am not wearing any kind of panty hose or support underneath. I think the dress is restricting enough ha

I would say HIGHER POWER is the best for a dress. It has a 'pocket' at the va-jay j area like a guy would have on boxers,,, so you dont have to take em off to go number 1~~~~

The Higher Power one does NOT hold you in the same like the Slim Cognito. The slim cognito is no joke, lol. This one goes all the way up to your boobs and has the crotch split so you can go potty without having to take it off.

I was looking into the slim congnito but was wondering how the hell am i suppose to go to the bathroom. but, thank gawd they have that opening. Does anyone recommend where to get a long bra? My dress has a built in corset but still i feel funny and want a bra!

I actually called the Spanx cusomter service yesterday about which one was better. She said that the Slim Cognito actually actually slims you 1/2 to 1 full size. The Higher Power just smooths everything out.

Ok here's a question! Do you wear the long line bra over the spanx, or do you pull the spanx up over the bra? I'm so confused.

That's awesome! But here's my stupid question of the day....if it slims you to a full size...where does all that fat go?!?!?! I'm afraid it's going to all come out of the top of the back of my dress and I'll have that back-fat going on. I don't want that! So where does it go?
