Re: sparkler centerpieces.
HELLO THERE YES I ACTUALLY WENT TO A PLACE THAT DOES THEM OKAY LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS $90 A TABLE AND YOU NEEDED MINIMUM OF 10-12 TABLES THEN IT WAS 100 OR 200 FOR THE PYRO TECH GUY, IT LASTS 55 SECONDS, AND YOU NEED HIGH CENTERPIECES, OR THE OTHER OPTION WAS TO HAVE IT AROUND THE DANCE FLOOR IN WHICH YOU NEED ABOUT 8 UNITS AT 90.00 EACH AND IT LAST 55 SECONDS.. I MAY BE A LITTLE OFF WITH PRICES.. I FORGOT WHO I WENT TO SEE BUT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED I CAN FIND OUT..ONE LAST THING YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOUR HALL WILL DO IT, ALOT WILL NOT BECAUSE OF THE FIRE INSURANCE..

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
I seem to remember some threads about this a while back. Try a search for 'sparklers' and see if it's any help.

Party Sensation in Port Washington also does it. I had a meeting with them on decorating my reception and the Sparklers I think was $50-$75 per table.

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
MarcellaBella,How was your friend's wedding at the sand castle?? I am getting married there 10/12/02 and I am curious!!!! I also got the sparklers - how long do they last - I have heard everything from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Were they worth it?

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
It was beautiful!!! She got some package I tell ya..First of all, she had a head count of like 415-420!!
the cocktail hour was unbelievable.. lobsters, clams, shrimp, all sorts of carving stations, pasta stations, sushi, salads, hot/cold buffets, and also passing out of hor derves (sp?)
then the reception was in this big room which was beatiful!! the couple's dais was really cute and very throne looking.. the food was really good.. there was fresh mozzarella and tomato and on the plates and then we had a choice between 2 salads, 2 pastas, and 5 courses!! then she had the vienesse which was like a circus!! they also have the cool screens which are cool for big parties cause you can see what is going on on the dancefloor...
the only cons are the fact that there is only one bathroom upstairs and that there were only 2 bars in the corner so it was jampacked at all times (alchi's! lol)

MarcellaBella,Thanks for the input. With the wedding approaching I am so nervous - I hope everyone likes the food! My menu is almost identical to your friends. Thanks again!!

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
I was thinking of doing this, but my hall does not allow it. I'm getting married on July 4th and this would have been perfect!

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
I had sparklers in my centerpieces for my Aug. 17 wedding. I would highly recommend it if your budget allows it. It was worth every penny. I shopped at a lot of florist comparing prices before I settle on my florist. Prices can vary from florist to florist (just like everything else.)Fact:
1.You choose how many centerpieces will have the sparklers in it.
2. You choose which tables centerpieces will have the sparklers in it.
3. You also choose when the sparklers goes off. ( For my wedding, we choose for the sparklers to go off at the end of our first dance.)
4. There is a fee for the Tech guy. Keep in mind that this guy(s) will be at your reception to trigger the sparklers to go off.
5. A lot of Long Island Halls do allow this, as long as the florist is insured.
I have not received my proofs back, but, as soon I do get them back I will post a picture of the sparklers going off.

I went to a wedding at Floral Terrace, they had this also. It surprised all of us, some of the elderly folks a little too much. But it was really nice.

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
My cousin had sparklers - BE CAREFUL!!! a spark shot out of one and lit her aunt's hair on fire!! Thank goodness it was really just the hairspray that went up and then burned out! But Think about the amount of hairspray at a wedding!!

Re: sparkler centerpieces.
we are having our reception at russo's on the bay and we will also have the sparlers! they say alot of people do them as you walk in but if you think about it everyone is looking at you not the centerpieces, so i really wouldnt do it at that time! we are planning to do it after we cut the cake.but i definatly think it is worth it. we are paying 75 a table.we are doing every other table b/c we are having 350 at the wedding so that is to much for every table.Welcome New Vendors
