Has anyone been to a ceremony where they used sparklers instead of rice? Does anyone plan to use them? I am shopping around for them and I was hoping to get the ones that burn for 2 minutes. I was also hoping to get them in silver or red. Any suggestions...

I saw an ad for them in the back of a bridal mag and im thinking about using them, would love to see if anyone has seen them used...just afraid if I walk under them ( with tons of hairspray on) I might end up on one of those Worlds wildest weddings tv shows with no hair left? They cant start fires can they?

Well as a 'tomboy' child I tried to see if I could be burnt by them and I never succeeded in setting myself on fire and we always let children use them, so I think the hair is the only potential hazard..and hey..rice/bird seed can get in your eye or are pelted at your head and bubbles sting like hell if they float in your eyes so I think its comcarable.

I considered sparklers, but how would everyone get them lit? They don't light that easily with matches.

Good point, didnt think of that...pass a lighter around ? Kinda strange to do that I guess
