Sparklers?

Sparklers?

So since we are getting married July 2, 2010.....I have been researching unique favor ideas. I found a website ......wrapwithus.com (warehouse is Syosset) where you can purchase them...some ppl that I've mentioned it too told me it was illegal... I always just thought firecrackers were.....Am I wrong?

I know Ill have to check with our reception hall, the store (wrapwithus) and research the 'laws' but i was just wondering if any of you ladies had any ideas...or thoughts..or experiences:)

Do you think the Fox Hollow would allow this? Ill call the Banquet manager...just wanted to throw it out there while it was on my mind!

Let me know! Also....if we cant use sparklers, anyone have any other unique ideas. I'm not really into the whole patriotic red, white and blue theme that is usually associated with July 4th. I'm not really into giving little cheapo gifts either. I want something that has meaning to the guests....and that they can use.

TIA!!

Re: Sparklers?

I just looked at the Dept. of State web site. If I'm reading it correctly, sparklers are illegal in NYS. Could you use those fiber optic lights instead?

my cousin just got married in new orleans (so out of state, no help), but they had sparklers when we walked out and it was so beautiful!

Re: Sparklers?

I'm getting married the same weekend and I am also thinking of using sparklers! Honestly, I'm not all that concerned with the legality of it (is that bad??) but with the place not being ok with it. I like the idea of having my guests use them while we're there, but I'd be happy just using them as part of my favor...
I also really want to have a red/white/blue thread to the wedding, just not over the top ya know?
