I will be traveling for work too... I'm sure they will heighten the security even more.

Be careful girls...you're a lot stronger than I am...I don't think I'll ever fly on that day.

I was in New York (LI) on 9/11 and had to fly back to D.C. on the day the airports opened back up. It was the scariest day of my life. I've never had a fear of flying - I'm a pilot! But now, commercial aviation scares me......

Re: Speaking of 9/11.......

I used to fly tons.. I have 17000 miles on my American advantage miles.. in just 3 years.. and that's only American, cause i forgot to track the rest. I always try to fly penny-wise (cheap/fast).

I flew home from visiting my Dad and family on 9/8/01.

I worked in those buildings. I wished nothing more than to fly afterwards to sort of get back on the horse. I couldnt afford to.. and had to wait until my Physical Therapy progressed enough to feel ok visiting family and walking a lot.

But dang it.. I flew. On March 11, 2002, the six month anniversary I made sure I was home again with my Dad.

I found out that I'm not afraid of dying. I'm not afraid (more so that usual) of the plane falling out of the sky, I mean you die kinda quickly that way. There are worse ways to die. I am terrified of flying into a building filled with innocent people.

I had to watch the second airplane do that to my office. I tell you this.. now adays.. I'm willing to die in flight if it means I can prevent that from happening again. So I fly with venegence in mind and determination in heart.

Just me, I guess.

I, too, flew on March 11th 2002 (the 6 month anniversary). FH and I were supposed to go to Las Vegas 7 days after 9/11. We cancelled and rescheduled for March and didn't even realize that we booked on the 6th month anniversary. I was nervous as hell on the way to the airport as I had been part of 9/11 but I conquered my fears. The airport had very good security and once we got to the gate my mind was at ease. I've flown 4 times since then and haven't been scared at all. Once you get to the airport your fears may subside. I wish you luck.

FH and I returned from FL on 9/10/01 at 8:50PM... 12 hours later it all happened.

My grandmother has never met my daughter. She lives in FL. She wants me to come down and see her. I am so scared to get on a plane with my baby. I could die but the thought of anything happening to my daughter scares me so badly I want to drive!!!!
