I am pretty sure as far as refrigerators are concerned Kenmore is about top, agree? What about for stoves, micros? I know the consumer reports is a place to start, gotta get over there too but figured I'd ask you girls too.

All of my appliances are Kitchen Aide and I love them. Granted, they're only 2 years old, but they haven't given me an ounce of trouble.

my fridge is GE very good!
not sure what the stove is I know I have a kitchenaid dishwasher most names area ll pretty good I heard Kenmore and Maytag are also very good

Kenmore is Sears brand so I dont think its the 'top' brand in terms of luxury or brand name...but that doesnt mean its not a good model.
The 'top' stoves seem to be the Vikings. The best dishwashers seem to be the Bosch. The best fridges are supposed to be Sub Zeros.
But I cant afford any of the above in my budget. So I looked around for the features that I wanted in an affordable pricerange. Im getting everything from the GE Profile line b/c it was in my price range, had the features I wanted and looked good to me.
And since the appliances I have now are either the crappiest stuff made or 25 years old - it will be a HUGE improvement to me :D

FYI to all: Kenmore brand appliances are actually made by Whirlpool Corp..they just put the Kenmore name on them.
I have all Whirlpool appliances and I love them. CR usually gives Whirlpool and Kenmore both fairly good ratings, just make sure you check the model number to make sure you have the better rated one.

I saw that CR gave GE high ratings..but when I read on a kitchen remodel forum, everyone was bashing GE. I have no idea what that means but Im hoping the GEs are okay.
Im hoping that like with a lot of these items, all of them pretty good so you can go wrong.

My parents and grandparents have the Bosch dishwasher and I have to say...its the quietest thing I have ever 'not' heard!!
You would not know when its done if you didnt see the light go on!!
I know...it doesn't compare to Viking...but not much does...
but I do think that Kenmore is just as equal as the other popular brands

I cant say with any certainty since Ive only had a hotpoint and those suck A$$.
I think the problem with the appliance issue is that most people have only had 2 or 3 in their entire lives at best (and Im guessing most of us have had less than that)..so how can you really compare unless you owned them all?
