Speaking of China...did anyone NOT register for it?
We didnt. I can't imagine us ever using it in the future. Plus we dont have any room for it. We just registered for a nice set of dishes that we will use if we ever have company (nicer than our every day dishes)

No china for me. I have a huge set of scarlet Fiestaware that I love already, so I just registered for some matching serving platters and large bowls.

we didnt - we are registering for 2 sets of casual china/everyday china instead....one set is this hand painted taupe set with square salad and dinner plates, and it has nice big coffee mugs - we both LOVE it.....i think we might register for a plain white set like someone else mentioned that we can dress up for when we entertain....

FH and I didn't. We figured we don't have our first home yet and we don't know if our tastes will change when we get one in a couple of years. We figured we would get it once we decide on what kind of home we get.

we didn't, just a nice set of casual that we will use for company. If we ever have a place big enough to entertain!

Re: Speaking of China...did anyone NOT register for it?
i posted this earlier today in a diff thread - anytime we go to a dinner at anyone in FH's families house - say for a holiday or bday or whatever there are always more than 12 people - its more like 30 people - so ive never seen anyone in his family use their china because they dont have 30 place settings - same thing at my moms....my mom doesnt use hers - she keeps it in a china closet on display - hers is old school china that has been passed down and its rarely used because she doesnt want any pieces to break.....so because ive never seen anyone in either of our families actually use their china we decided that its a waste....there is no way in hell im displaying it and its probably going to be used once or twice a year - if that much....so we said no to china

Not us, but that's because we're getting my aunt's set. I don't know if I would have actually registered for it anyway.

Re: Speaking of China...did anyone NOT register for it?
Oh TG! One of my BMs are giving me a hard time because I just don't want to register for China. I have no where to put it, don't know WHEN I'll ever use it and just can't see expecting my (broke-a$$!) family to spend 150.00+ on 1 place setting.
I already have my retro-looking Correlle that matches my kitchen plus have some awesome (now out of print) Pfaltsgraff every day in my hope chest.
To be fair, her argument is I may not need/want it now, but if the time comes there is no way I'll have the money to buy it for myself.
