speaking of clothes= what did you keep and what not?

speaking of clothes= what did you keep and what not?

As my little Molly is beginning to outgrow some of her 0-3 month stuff I was wondering what you gals all did with the clothes. Did you save everything?
There are things I would never part with, like her coming home outfit and first Christmas stuff. But what about the everyday PJs or onesies. Did you give away to charity, to a friend, or pack up everything?

I guess it depends if you want more children. I am saving everything in case I have another girl someday.

I'm a pack rat ~ I saved everything. Well, everything except a few things that didn't wash well and got those little fuzzies on them.

I have put some things away that had shrunk that she doesn 't fit into anymore. I kept them. I did donate things that I didnt' like of course, but I kept a lot of it. I have a younger sister - so I figure it could always come in handy.

Much to my husband's horror :) I keep it all. But luckily I did since I had another girl and so far are able to use most of it. All the clothes are in tucker totes in my basement labeled by size stages

I have BOXES of clothes from Emma.. waiting for #2. When I am done then I will give them to friends or charity.

I think it really depends on HOW MUCH you have. I did not save EVERYTHING. I simply couldn't! I would literally have been buried alive with Paul's clothing! I gave bags and bags of things away to charity b/c I just could not see saving SO MUCH stuff when I don't even know if Baby #2 will be a boy or not.

I saved alot of infant gender neutral clothing (like the yellow and green stuff) and my favorite outfits that Paul wore and the sentimental stuff. The rest went bye-bye. And I STILL have 5 JUMBO space bags filled with baby clothes in the attic. So go figure

Wow I feel like a baby clothes glutton. I have tons of stuff that Luke has outgrown and I have yet to part with any. We have a few huge plastic tubs in the attic. When I say alot, I mean ALOT, we have mainly boys in our family and most of our friends have boys as well so we got so much stuff for him.

As much as I would love a little girl, part of the reason I'd also love another boy is b/c of all these clothes.

i went through the stuff last night - out of sheer panic that I am going to keep too much! I put aside any of the Carters little snapup things. Those I am going to donate because I am sure I'd just buy new if I have another baby. I only have a few other little things she never fit into (some preemie stuff that I hope I'll never need anyway), and of course her coming home outfit and first nightgown.

I limited how much clothing we bought for Lyla, so storing it right now is not a problem. We didn't get that much clothing as gifts, since we didn't know if she was a or , so those that bought us clothes gave us neutral stuff. So far, I have 2 large bags stored away. I will save everything until we are done having kids. Much of it is in very good condition and hardly got used. I do have a few items with tags on still.

saving a LOT of her things...in case it will work when we start on #2.
Mostly gender neutral stuff for infant sizes...but the rest of the stuff is GIRLY!!! so, we will see once we work on #2 ( not for some time)

Liz, that's exactly what I say! I've already got bags of stuff in a tub in the attic and I am really hoping that we get lucky enough to have another little boy just so I can use dome of it!!

I also had to do a 'reality check' of what was truly worth saving. I was a freak at first and I saved all of Paul's clothes - onesies, rompers, sleep things, undershirts, etc. One day, DH wacked me upside the head (figuratively!) with this comment - 'Honey, saving those things is equivalent to saving old underwear!' We will buy new undershirts and sleep things for another baby - they are cheap enough!

That makes lots of sense, but I saved Nicky's things simply because they were his. I look at his little sleepers and remember when he was so tiny...

Jenn, honestly...I believe you are still too early in this process to consider throwing anything away! JMO. I 'needed' to hold onto everything for almost 20 months before I started to part with things! Remember, I was the one who posted that I couldn't stop crying everytime Paul outgrew a diaper size!

Of course, I saved plenty of stretchies/onesies from when Paul was super tiny....but, I realized I didn't need them all to remember that stage in his life.

Re: speaking of clothes= what did you keep and what not?

Girls, your making me laugh because Im going through this right now.
Although I have about ten packs of various brand new packages onesies, I REFUSE to part with some old stuff...

I just did a load of laundry of onesies and stretches that were JA's and one or 2 had a stain on them and I was wondering what he ate when he stained it, and how he looked eating it, and how little he was... and you know....
Part of me is going to rip open the new packs right away, and part of me is keeping the new packs right there, and I just wanna smell the smell that is on the clothes that JA wore...that newborn smell, that soft little feel...

We've given away ALOT of stuff also but now that Im actually going through it to prepare for the baby, Im going through all these emotions...
