I'm really starting to get the feeling that wedding planning is just one big lesson in dealing with disappointment. Anyone else with me on this? We just found out over the weekend that even more of FH's family can't come to the wedding. I feel SOOOOOO bad for him...he's literally going to have almost no family there.

My FH is going through the same thing. I feel really bad as well. I dont know why this is happening. I understand , but dont worry , your day will be amazing and you will be surrounded by people that love you and want to share your day.

My FH will have a similar issue since his family is all from OOT. Nobody came to our e-party because they didnt want to make the trip...
A bunch are coming to the wedding which is nice, but our guest list and to-be-attending-guests will be overwhelmingly from my side.

Re: Speaking of disappointment....
it is extremely disappointing ! If it was my family, I would extend the same back to them for their furture events !
that being said, do not let them ruin your( or FH's) day ! everything will be perfect regardless!

As long as FH has a bunch of people that are there and that love him, it should be fine.

I am with you a 100% i almost feel that if I had to do it over I would have gone to Aruba just with family and had it done and over with. I thought this would be a fun experience but this is just one big headache I don't want to deal anymore with it! I just want it here and done! ok you caught me on a really bad day!

Shoot I have that problem with MY family.
I think everything is going wrong for so many people at this time, so my wedding is coming at a bad time for everyone. I feel bad, for them & me.

I feel that way for my friend....its like NOTHING is going right for her lately. It really stinks that a wedding shows peoples true colors.

Seems we are all having a bad day. Maybe its the rain. LOL. Dont worry about it. It will work out. It ***** because every bride has expectations on how everyone shoud react to them getting married and when people dont its a let down. Been there already and you know what it really does not matter. Its your day and dont let anyone take away the joy that you are marrying the man of your dreams.

Weddings bring the truth to light. The truth is disappointment is a part of life, but it is only a small part. I am sorry that your FH will not have a lot of family at the wedding. You guys will have an amazing day.

Re: Speaking of disappointment....
i know exactly how yo feel. Same thing happened with my fh's family and even some of his friends. Out of 10 tables only three will be of his family and friends. He felt bad for a while but got over it and said that it doesn't matter as long as the two of us are there!

Re: Speaking of disappointment....
Did you send out 'save the dates'? May is a really bad month with a lot of things going on like communions and school events. Not that it is at the same level, but I invited 30 people for my daughter's 10th birthday. So far we have 1 yes and 4 no's, it is 5/17-and waiting for the rest. My daughter is bummed because her good friends can't make it. So long as FH has loved ones there, it doesn't need to be family. FH doesn't have much family he is inviting. I have a huge family. Enjoy the day none-the-less and know they are there in spirit. good luck
