speaking of ex bfs

would you guys consider inviting your ex boyfriend's parents to your wedding?

I still keep in touch with my ex's mom shes so cool and down to earth. Even when I broke up with her son and completely cut him off( it was his fault) i kept in touch with her. She said if i ever get married she wants to be there...so I think I might invite her.

What would you all do?

Yeah shes so nice. Like the other guys I went out with their moms were ok but she was just the best. In all honesty, I would have loved for her to be my MIL. But I wasnt going to put up with a cheating greedy you know what for the rest of my life.

Im happy now, but I have to admit I still miss his mom alot. My FMIL now is cool, but I guess the ice hasnt broken yet.

I loved my ex's mom... We got along sooo well... My mom loved her... I think they actually still send xmas cards back and forth every year!!! I always say I wish my FMIL and I had the kind of rel I had with my ex's mom!! We just dont click a smuch as I would like us to! And now she moved to FL so FH & I will hardly ever see her. I dunno if I can see myself calling her 'mom', but could of with my ex... weird huh?

Re: speaking of ex bfs

Although I am friends with an ex and still see him and his family (mostly brothers and sisters) I probably will only invite him and his girlfriend and not his family. I guess if I was really close to all of them or his parents I would.

I'm with you on that one. I love my FMIL dont get me wrong, its just that my ex's mom was so cool. Always had such great advice and such.

Yeah the moving to Florida, well that might make it difficult for the two of you to bond and really grow with a relationship. But for now, maybe go for coffee or something before she moves. I posted something a while ago about breaking the ice with my mother in law and some of the girls said it would be nice to include her in the wedding planning and stuff like that. Maybe that will make it grow a little bit. Im working on it now! I'll let you know how it goes

ONE MORE THOUGHT...

Why is it that the a**hole guys have the most awesome parents and the great guys parents are sometimes hard to have a relationship with?!!

Re: speaking of ex bfs

It's funny that you saythat because this is something I was thinking recently .... I was with someone for 3 years and his mother and I were extremely close especially after m father's death ... she wanted me to marry her son and still does to this day i did not speak to her in like 2 years and she called me at my job like 2 days after i got engaged .. (coinsedence???) saying she still wishes I would marry her son & to see how things were going with me ... when me and her son were together I always told her don'rt worry even if I dont marry your son you will be at my wedding!! thats how close we were ... but now it is just weird ... Do I still invite her ???

Re: speaking of ex bfs

your situation is basically the same as mine-maybe you should invite her...Im seriously thinking about inviting my ex's mom. But i think before I do that, maybe i should run it by FH he might feel a little weird about it. I know if he invited his ex's mom and dad I'd be a little bothered by it.
