Speaking of making changes....

Speaking of making changes....

I went to my cousin's wedding on Saturday and saw many people I haven't seen in years.

Everyone was gushing about how 'beautiful' I am and all that (so nice ) BUT they kept saying how I 'haven't changed a bit' and look just like I did when I was a teenager.

Ok, I am 31 years old, and while I appreciate that I still look younger than my age....I don't like the fact that I 'havent changed a bit'

even dh said it the other day while we were looking at some old pics (we've known each other for 13 years )

I think my face has matured a bit, and I have definitely started wearing make up and dressing differently...so what kind of a 'change' would make me look different.

I tried highlights...no one really notices (admittedly it wasn't that drastic, but still)

I don't want to be a Jennifer Aniston...what should i do?

There are always intangible things about a person that stay the same. Your mannerisms, etc. People may have been noticing that other people have aged and that in comparison to that you have not changed as much. They said you looked great, so think of that!!!! Oh, what can you do if you want to change? Get some wrinkles and make your boobs sag.

Did they expect you to get fat and start dressing like an old lady? LOL I don't know since I haven't seen any pics of you when you were younger. I wouldn't worry about it, personally. If you are happy with your hair / makeup / clothing style, then there isn't really anything to do. I wouldn't start dressing like a corporate drone just because you are older.

I think maybe it was a comment made of envy. That you still look as fab as you did back when you met your d to the h.

I think you look great! We have similar features. You can always get a very sassy short haircut with some really defined highlights and get some contacts. You don't need these things but if you want a way to look different and older the haircut will do it. When I first started teaching I kept getting mistaken for a student and I taught in a MIDDLE SCHOOL! So I chopped all my hair off. I loved it, so easy and I never got mistaken for a kid again. It was liberating!

I know how attached some women get to their hair... It can be hard. I personally can't wait to cut mine after the wedding!

I get the opposite - I used to be heavy and frumpy - now everyone makes a big deal (or they did before I became pregnant) and how much I've 'grown' - how beautiful I am NOW, how thin, etc.... How much better I loko, yadda yadda - you never can win, can you?

Isn't that the truth!?

I wouldn't sweat it... at least they're not saying, wow, Jessica, you've aged so much! : )
