Speaking of the STUPID guest list...

Speaking of the STUPID guest list...

One way to cut the list and shut up my mother is to not invite everyone and guest. The problem is 90% of my friends are from OOT. Is it worng to invite some ppl with a guest and some without?

We invited 'and guest' to people that were in a long term relationship only. According to etiquette rules that is appropriate.

whatever you do i would keep it consistent and make rules that are not subjective, i.e. 'everyone who lives together' vs. 'everyone in a serious relationship'...

i invited everyone (adult) with guest.

I wouldn't want to travel to a wedding OOT alone...

I am going to do as Heidla did.
If WE know your 'guest' or if WE know your in a long term relationship then they can come with a guest otherwise I am not just putting 'and Guest'. At our Engagement party we invited everyone with a guest and people were struggling to find people because they felt obligated.

DITTO ... you cannot make everyone happy!

My younger teenage cousins are all out of town.. and they all have different boyfriends/girlfriends every month (aah to be young..) .. so there is really no reason to have them bring a guest when they aren't in a serious relationship

there are other pepole that I know FOR A FACT are single (and proud of it) and they will probably be happier at the 'singles' table, anyhow

I guess I'm just sensitive about this because I went to an OOT wedding once without a date, and the band played slow songs the whole time and I swore I would never go to a wedding alone again. I would be offended if I were in my mid-20's, single, and invited without a guest. JMO...
