Speaking of veils...

What length veil are you wearing? My dress doesn't have a long train (like I always wanted ) so I was leaning toward a cathedral length veil.....what about you? Any pictures?

my veil is elbow length, 2 tiered. my dress has alot of detail to it, and with my short hair i figured i would just go for a simple veil.

Hi Peg!
I am always looking for advice and suggestions....here is a picture of the back of my dress...what do you think about a cathedral length...would it take away from the dress?

My dress doesn't have a train either, so I'm going with cathedral length veil. I wish I had a picture for you, but it looked so pretty!!!

My gown has a semi-cathedral train and I'm getting a detachable cathedral veil that I will probably remove after the ceremony.

ETA: the veil underneath is elbow length.

I choose a fingertip length veil. I didn't like the cathedral with my gown.

Are you going to wear the elbow length during the reception?

Yep! I will wear both for the ceremony and after the ceremony & pics I will detach the cathedral veil and just wear the elbow length.

I have a chapel length train and I didn' want to cover it up so I'm wearing a 2 tier fingertip length veil.

Re: Speaking of veils...

Someone told me that the cathedral veil should be LONGER than the train of your dress as a guideline....

And someone else told me that she kept her 2-tier fingertip veil on during the reception and it kept getting caught on other people's earring and watches and kept falling in her face when she hugged and kissed people...

That gave me something to think about, since I was considering wearing my veil during the reception....I have a cathedral veil for church underneath a 2 tier fingertip veil and blusher....I am removing the cathedral veil for the reception....

I'm wearing a 2-tier elbow length veil. All the detail in my dress is from the waist down, so I don't want it to cover anything. Cathedral would be inappropriate for me, and fingertip seemed too long for me. I'm taking my veil off for the reception.

I wore a cathedral veil for the ceremony under my 2 layer fingertip veil. The cathedral was attached by velcro and I removed it for the reception. I love the look of cathedral veils. They are grogeous. No matter what dress I got I was getting a cathedral veil. My dress didn'ty have a huge train so I think they worked out perfectly...even though the mfg of my dress had made a matching veil that was elbow - I just felt the cathedral worked better with my dress/look.

I wore the 2 layer fingertip the entire night. I loved my veils. I had no issues like the person above mentioned. It didn't ever get in the way!!! I have pictures online - under the Albums.

Niecey

Your pictures are beautiful...your dress...flowers...everything!!!
Do you have a picture of your dress and veil from the back? I would love to see what it looks like. I think I am looking for that layered look. I want the length/look of cathedral during the ceremony but still want to wear a veil during the reception.

Thanks everyone!
