do the gm's vests need to match the girl's dresses? it's hard for me to find match for them. we picked out a vest that has a little bit of the color from the dress- but from a distance the vest looks much darker than the BM colors.
also- does the groom always have to wear a lighter color than the guys. right now we have fi in ivory - would it be odd for the guys to wear ivory and FI to wear a darker color to go w/ me (i'm not wearing white or ivory)

Re: speaking of vests---
They guys vest do not have to match the bridesmaids, though they should not clash with them either.
The reason the groom wears something different from the other guys is to make him stand out. He should be different from the other guys to designate him as the groom.
My girls are wearing wine color dresses. The groom is wearing a grey vest and tie. The Groomsmen are wearing black vests and ties.
It is whatever you would like them to wear...

I would bring a swatch of the girls dress and a pic of them when the guys get the tux. They should be able to help you there.

they don't have to match, but should be complimentary. the groom usually wears a different color to stand out. doesn't matter if it's lighter or darker.
yes...complement is the better word...one tux place told me they had vests that matched my designer's color for the BM dress...and I just didn't think it would look right...we did black, white and grey morning suits/tux for the guys
