Re: speaking of what to wear---E-Party
I think it depends on how fancy your party is. Mine was a cocktail party at the Harrison House...so everyone was in business casual...some people were wearing suits. But my friend had an e-party in the garden at tavern on the green and she wore something much more casual...skirt and halter top with strappy sandals.
My e-party was in October-
I wore a black (fitted) three-quater length sleeve wrap shirt (silky material) that tied on the side with a matching fitted black knee length skirt - both were Tahari. I wore no stockings and black david aaron heels with an almost-stilletto heel and a pointy front (if that makes any sense).
I got lots of compliments on the outfit!
Hope this helps!

Re: speaking of what to wear---E-Party
We had our party last September - a catered backyard tent party - and I found a really cute black & white sundress on sale at Saks the week before. I was probably a little more dressed than some of my guests, but I'm the bride!!
I think a cute sundress or skirt and top or even capris woulod be fine. JMO

Our eparty was casual. I wore a denim sundress. FH wore khaki shorts and a golf shirt. What kind of eparty are you having?

We had a semi formal eparty. I wore a long black jersey halter dress. The halter had crystals around it. FI wore a suit as did most of the guys

i say go for a nice sundress if it's in the summer. (were you giving the date or the times?) can't go wrong with a sundress, right?
Nevermind, you said the month in your original post. If it's early Sept and still hot, I'd go for a sundress.

Re: speaking of what to wear---E-Party
I actually just bought a dress today for my engagement party that will be at the end of August. I got a long dress, but it's pretty summery. September is still warm so I think you could still wear a summer dress too. I definitely suggest you look soon cause the summer dresses won't be there too much longer (that's why I went looking today).
