Special Moments! First time
So this might be a bit cheesey but whatever. A few weeks ago FH ended is four years in office at his volunteer fire department. There was a dinner in his honor. After being presented with a bunch of awards and honors, he made a speech thanking everyone who helped him throughout the four years. After his members, line officers, chiefs and commissioners and even his father and family (including his mom who passed away 3 years ago which made it difficult for him to speak about them) he thanked me, 'last but not at all least' for always supporting him and making his time as officer easier. 'You've waited a long time for us to start our lives together and it's approaching fast. This is absolutely our year. I love you' Both my parents were there. He snuck a thank you in for them as well, since my father is a local volunteer firefighter and having grown up around the FD gave me an idea of what I was getting into 5 years ago and my mother also lost her mother when she was about the same age as FH and has always been there for him. Oh man was I balling my eyes out! We always say 'I love you' and I know that he means it but the planning process has been stressful without a doubt. It was so special to hear him speak those words out loud. Made everything so very real!
A few days ago, FH and I were texting back and forth in the morning since we don't live together yet, a practice as old as our relationship (our first months together we paid hundreds of dollars in text message fees before we both switched to unlimited texting). I had said that I got on the early train to work so that I could get my day set up and started. Out of nowhere FH replied 'Good call Mrs. FH' I must have looked like such an idiot to the other train riders with the silly grin I had on my face! I call him Mr. all the time but this was the first time he called me Mrs. with his last name. I can't wait for July 5, 2013!
