Did anyone give a speech at your engagement party? Who did you address it to? I'm not sure if we should stand and give a speech thanking everyone for coming and thanking our parents for giving us the party...
Any thoughts or suggestions?

My brother gave the speech at my eparty. He isnt the best man (fh's brother is) so we decided that being that he wasnt going to be making the speech at my wedding...then he should do it at the eparty...

we were going to but we had gotten so sidetracked it never happened- fh wanted to wait for everyone to be in the same room at the same time that was a challenge it is only normal people are going to walk around and mingle

We didn't give a speech but there were too many speeches made! My dad made a speech, then FH's mom made a speech, then my aunt/godmother made a speech, then FH's godmother made a speech! As if that wasn't enough my brother made a speech about our family dog who passed away the previous week...I loved that dog but that was a little weird in that setting

MY FH gave one. He addressed it to our families for hosting the party, then to our friends for coming and supporting us. He did a GREAT job! I piggy backed on his speech too. I formally asked my girls to be my bridemaids. It was cute.

my moh gave a speech and so did my FH. Most of the speech was to one of his GM who is the one who came up to me to ask me about FH the night we met and then told FH what i thought about him so he thanked him for having the b*lls to come up to me when he didnt yes he really did say that and he thanked everybody for coming
i asked him to please not use the word b*lls if he plans to also give a speech at the wedding, which he probably will just to say a quick thank you to everyone for coming
