Question - my cousin is getting married next week and wants me to help her with organizing the layout of the rehearsal and reception...
Am I right with the following?
At the rehearsal, the bride and groom can give a thank you type speech and the bride's father (or parents) can give a congratulatory type speech as well as the goom's parents.
At the reception, only the Best Man and Maid of Honor give a speech.
*Is there anything else that is traditionally done at the rehearsal - other than eat and the speeches?*
*For the reception: Intro of couple, first dance, bride with dad dance, groom with mom dance, BM speech, MOH speech, dinner, dancing, cake cutting, bo-k toss, garter toss, big farewell if wanted. Anything missing???*
THANKS!

Re: Speeches at rehearsal and at reception
In my family, just about anyone can give a toast at the RD. Usually, it starts with the groom's father (since usually the groom's parents host) and then the bride's father.
Many people have the MOH give a toast at the RD if they only want the best man to give the toast at the reception.
At the RDs I've been to, there are usually plenty of toasts to go around!

Re: Speeches at rehearsal and at reception
Remember, the RD is also the time when the bride and groom usually give out TY gifts to their BP and parents!!
As for the wedding, set some time aside for the bride and groom to make 'the rounds'. Greet all of their guests and thank them for coming, make sure they're having a good time.
Everything looks good, don't worry, she's not going to forget anything that needs to get done!!!
