Everyone on this board seems to rave about them so I made an appt. with them this Monday.
I was just wondering if there is anything I should know before I go. For those of you who used them... Were their prices comparable to other companies? How are they with requests/do not play lists? I am very particular about music and want to be able to give them a huge list of music to play.
I just used them...Tom was FANTASTIC!! He played almost everything I requested and nothing on my DO NOT play list (that was very important to me)
He was a little more expensive than other djs ...but I am very happy that I got exactly what I wanted and the dance floor was packed and people loved the music...

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
I have an appointment to meet w. Tom next week as well. Quick question on his packages, some of them mention lighting and a performer...I dont think I want a light show or anything (after all, its my wedding not ClubNY). Is he flexible on packages and pricing, like if I want the better sound system but no lights?
I only used him for 4 hours (no cocktail)...I also got the bigger sound system (for a huge room) and NO LIGHTS!! I think any vendor will work with you to get what you want...

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
I'm using them. I think a middle of the road package for about 5.5 hours was $1600. I am not getting a performer or extra sound system. I am getting white lighting system.
Tom is great and didn't try to push anything. He seems to do what you want.
As far as preparation, you may want to think about if you want lights, performers, sound systems, giveaways etc. Other than that he leads the show and asks lots of questions to help get what's right for you.

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
This may be a stupid question, but what do the performers do? I dont think we will be using one, but I am curious as to what the 'performance' is

J&A, please report back, or email me with your thoughts about SAS. I have not made any DJ appointments yet...I think I am getting lazy! Hope all is going well! Good luck with SAS.

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
I met with Tom and he was great, and his company sounded great. However, he couldn't personally do my wedding bc I was booking kiind of late (3 months) and he had another party to do that day. I would definitely recommend them. I went with Music by Michael and could not be any happier so far. If SAS doesn't work out for some reason, I recommend him highly. www.musicbymichael.com - his website is helpful for picking songs and getting advice too. good luck!

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
I booked SAS for my August 3rd wedding and so far so good. We left 1/3 of the total payment as a down payment which for us was around $500. But we are not using Tom, he was busy on the day of our wedding. Has anyone heard anything else about the other djs?

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
You have to leave a third of the total cost as your down payment.
I was just checking my contract last night!

Re: SPIN AROUND SOUND
We used SAS for our wedding and were very satisfied. We had Tom and one other person, whose name slips my mind right now. I strongly recommend using them!
