Do you FIL's offer to pay for the RD or did you ask them/mention that the groom's parents usually pay for the RD.... My parents are very generous with FH & I and are paying for our RH so I am not going to expect them to pay...FH & I would end up paying for it. I do not know if I should bring up the RD to my FIL's or let FH do it or what... FH is the youngest & only boy...so I am not sure if his parents know the tradition that the groom's parents usually pay for the RD... Help? Ideas??? TIA!!!!!!

Just because I am not the best at confrontation- I let FH deal with that. im sure when it gets closer to september I'm going to have to get more involved- but as for the guest list and RD and Brunch- they know they have to pay for it but im letting FH do all the 'handling'....just let him approach them without you to begin with and then once they know their role you can get involved...

I had FH drop the hint and when he did they said 'that's all you want us to do?' so they are also giving us some money toward our honeymoon'. So psyched!! I wasn't expecting that. My parents are paying for half the wedding also.

Luckily, FH is the youngest of three and FILs had paid for the other two brother's RD, so I was off the hook in the confrontation department.

I figured that we would be paying for it ourselves. But FMIL said that she would pay for it.

Do it! Casually mention it to them. Just say it is customary for the grooms parents to pay for the rd. or maybe drop hints- say ' hey me and fi are going to go looking at rd places, are u interested in joining us'
