Spin off from Catholic Brides

I just want to make sure that I wasn't miss informed about this, but is it true that you can do the Pre Cana in any diosese and just present the certificate and you're set?

FH and I are getting married in Manhattan, but it would be much more convienent to do the Pre Cana near my house in Queens.

TIA

Make sure it's acceptable with your Church first, but I believe you can take it elsewhere.

That's what we did, we're getting married on Long Island and live in Rockland County so we did it through the Archdiocese of NY (we did it last year, their last one day program).

I would just check with your church as well!

I could only speak to the associate pastor, as our pastor has been sick(cancer) and he has been away. I also spoke with the provincial that runs the order of priests that my church is run by (he's a close family friend). Both told me that it's acceptable, we just have to present the certificate afterwards.

But it doesn't hurt to doublecheck.
Plus I bet there are other brides out there wondering about this.

Oh, and it's cheaper in the diosese of Brooklyn than in NY.

My friend did her Pre Cana in Suffolk and got married in Nassau county.
All they need is the certificate

Yes this is true, it is supposed to cost more money though.

Nassau and Suffolk are the SAME Diocese... Diocese of Rockville Centre, so that's why she wouldn't have had a problem.

But, youshouldn't have a problem... although i would double check just to be on the safe side.
