Spin Off on Deceased Parent on Invite Post with Poll

My father passed away over five years ago. Should I still include his name on the invite or no?

My father passed away three years ago. I am still trying to decide. I think it will all be in the wording of your invites. See how it sounds with and without and then make a decision.

I think it is really up to you. My dad passed away 20 years ago and my mom never remarried. My invites say Mrs. Robert S. . . . requests the pleasure of your company . . .

As a bride who went through the same thing, I can relate. My dad passed away 8 years ago. I put the invite as:

the honor of your presence is requested
at the marriage of
Shelly
daughter of E.G. and the late J.G.
...

My mom things its so nice. My sister didn't put our dad's name on hers and after she heard I was she asked if she should have done it. I am the daughter of two parents and I just wanted him included. JMO.

I think that I am having 'JLD and RLT, along with their parents...'.

I think it's a really personal choice. I put my dad's name on the invite, but I was worried that it would just call attention to the sadness of him not being there. In the end, I decided I'd be sadder if I just didn't mention him at all. But I can see why some people would choose to leave off their deceased parent, or maybe do something else to honor them at the ceremony instead.
