Yeah I don't think a helicopter would go over too well!

i splurged on photography, i'm thinking of having Mr. Met attend, and I think FH will kill me if we don't have a chocolate fountain. i still haven't chosen a dress, so i hope i don't have to splurge on that too much!

our honeymoon (although we cut back a lot from what we orginally wanted!)
we added club lighting to our DJ package
thinking of splurging on a boudoir photo shoot for FH's gift.

Re: spin-off to cutting corners...what are you

my splurge was the fact that i traveled back to Long Island to get married

i grew up there and knew i couldnt get the wedding that i wanted in FL where i moved to or KS where DH and i live now

i made all our guests pretty much travel there

al our immediate family had to travel..cost of hotel and all that stuff

so that was my splurge a destination wedding

Splurge is Photo/Video. Also RH. And, my dress.

Saving on Flowers. No need to spend $$$$ on something that dies.

I splurged on my DJ package, having someone do my programs and petal cones and the Steel Drum band for the cocktail hour.

I don't regret a single one of those decisions for a second.

Re: spin-off to cutting corners...what are you

Ummmm ... I think a lot of what we did would be considered as splurges by most of the girls on here!

* Thomas Knoell headpiece, earrings, bracelet and hairsticks.

* Pocketfold Save the Date packets with magnets

* Very High End Custom Invitations mailed in boxes (design & assembly was DIY, materials were )

* Hand Calligraphy

* Gorgeous Ketubah with gold leaf detail and filled in by hand by the artist

* Custom Aisle Runner

* High Centerpieces on every table

* Chair Covers JUST for the ceremony (man I hated their chairs in that room!!!!!!!!!!!! )

* Rented Iron Screens to block off path around room before walking down the aisle in the ceremony room (main I hated their beat up wicker screens for that room!!!!!! )

* Draped Tulle on ceiling of ballroom

* Crystal Monogram Cake Topper

* Menus at each place setting to match invitations (design & assembly was DIY, materials were )

* Programs to match invitations

* Matching Table #s (I later found out that the Bride who got married at the hall the day after me got to use my table #s )

* Seating Scroll

* Personalized Mint Boxes at each place setting

* Personalized Napkins

* Personalized Barrel Match Boxes

* Personalized Coasters

* Dessert Cafe (aka Viennese Hour)

* FOUR garters

* OOT Boxes for the guests at the hotel

* 'Welcome Dinner' for guests at a restaurant the night before the wedding (approx 60 people were there, it was a mini wedding!)

* Hospitality Suite at the hotel during the afternoon (wedding was at night)

* Brunch the next morning at the hotel

I'm sure there is more that I am forgetting, but its quite a list already ... I'll quit while I'm ahead

I don't know if this counts as a splurge but we are having an informal bbq at my parent's house the day after for the bridal party and OOT guests.

The only thing I really want are cupcakes instead of a traditional cake and will go to an off-premise baker to get them if necessary.
