Spin off to MUA (sorry a bit long)

So I went yesterday for a 2nd trial. FH again did not like it. My mom who rarely butts in keep saying do your own makeup. So basically 2 trials with different people and I wasn't impressed with either one.

When I ask FH what he doesn't like he says it looks like too much makeup (not that it was) but I understood what he was saying. It didn't look like me.

I do not wear much make up so I debating on doing my own on the day of. My only problem is I need to figure out how to buy the exact shade of foundation I would need. I rarely wear it.

So is it crazy if I just do my own makeup because I will probably be happier. Plus it will save me lots of $$$.

Hey Girl!!!! I understnd where you're FH is coming from.... do you have a girlfriend that could help you on the day of??? I dont think its a big deal to do your own make up....


Have you tried telling the MUA that you want a more natural look???

I completely understand! I do my make up pretty understated everyday so I stressed that to my MUA bc I still wanted to look like myself at the wedding. I'm using Kelly from Glam Me Up and she totally got what I was looking for. Maybe it would be worth it for you to do a trial with her?

As for doing your own make-up, I think that's up to you. I know I would be wayyyy to stressed out to do mine - plus my hands will prob be shaky lol but if you think you will be able to do it then go for it.

Who have you done trials with? Im booked with Christy from Christy Ann Cosmetics and she is Amazing!!! Anything u tell her to do she does it perfectly!

however if you feel comfortable doing your own make up then you should. maybe go to mac or sephora and ask them to help u find the perfect match for colors

Thanks ladies for the quick response. The 2nd one I told her I wanted to look natural told her the colors and she used something different (not sure why). When FH pointed out it did almost look like the 1st one a lot.

None of my friends do make up (most wear less than me which would equal almost none)

I think I am going to try to get the foundation and do it myself a few times. Youtube actually has some great videos on it

ETA: It is also hard because none of my girls will probably get theirs done and most MUA want a minimum amount
