I don't. We just don't think it's really relevant...

Re: Spinoff: Do you know your SO's 'magic #'???
We were friends for a while before we started dating so I knew those details early on. And for me, he is my one and only.

I do, but I wouldn't have cared if he hadn't told me. He willingly told me without me even asking.

NOPE. And I'm not really concerned. That was the past. He's been with me and only me for the past 6 years!
All I know is he's had MANY!

Re: Spinoff: Do you know your SO's 'magic #'???
i cant imagine not knowing, its just somehting that i know is in the past but i still think you should know. i know beacuase we were friends for 3 years before we got together, but even if we werent i would still have asked and shared. i think in a relationship you should share EVERYTHING, and that includes youre sexual history, couples should feel free to share everything!!!

Re: Spinoff: Do you know your SO's 'magic #'???
When I was younger this was always one of the first things we discussed (with serious bf's), but now it doesn't seem as relevant. I have an idea of his number & know he's never had a one night stand, but honestly his # doesn't concern me.

oh my gosh - it was one of the first things I asked him when we started dating (I am a pretty forward person).
Me too I think I asked him that the 2nd day I met him, lol- VERY IMPORTANT to me!!! and I might add- what a freakin player- glad he got that out of his system before marriage!!!!

Re: Spinoff: Do you know your SO's 'magic #'???
For those of you who needed to know or felt that it was important to know, I am curious. Assuming that he practiced safe sex with all of the partners and was not knowingly putting you at risk for disease, why should the number matter if he has integrity towards himself and to you. In other words, if he is faithful and honest, what difference does it make? Just a question.

Re: Spinoff: Do you know your SO's 'magic #'???
we never shared this information with each other. we discussed NOT sharing it. We didn't think it mattered because the people we were with before, had nothing to do with our relationship. So, if it were 5, or 10, or 20, it wouldn't change anything.

for me, its just something that ive always spoken about with whoever i was with.. or even friends.. im very open about it,and those around me always have been as well. It wasnt a question of integrity to me, more so just knowing the whole picture. In our case, it was more amusing to see where we came from and where we ended up. If he had Wilt Chamberlin #s, then maybe i'd have some 2nd thoughts but short of that, it really didnt make a difference.

Well one of the things that I value so much in our relationship is that we tell each other everything. And I don't know. I would just definitely want to know his sexual history

Yeah I wanted to know his whole history. Personal, sexual & otherwise. It was part of getting to know each other & the expericences that lead us to where we are.
If it was many, I don't think I'd need an exact number. But just a general idea of it was comprised of one night stands, or lots of relationships, or hookers or whatever.
I volunteered a lot of information about myself, b/c I thoghthe had te wronf ipression of me thogh he is friends & there were some trust issues &things I was still dealing with at the time, that I felt better explaining so it didn't cause us problems later.
