Spinoff: How did you ask your flowergirls?

Spinoff: How did you ask your flowergirls?

So, I am totally spinning off my earlier thread.

Did you guys do anything special when asking your flowergirls? I really want to have my six year old and five year old niece's be my flowergirls. I'm sure they won't understand what it means anyway, but I still want to ask and do something cute.

TIA!!

Haha! Gotta love mama's.

I'm sure my sister assumes that her daughter is in it, I just wanted to be able to tell my niece herself. She'll probably just look at me all confused. I was thinking that there's gotta be some type of flower girl barbie (kid skipper??) doll out there, but I also don't want to go crazy and spend money on something that is definitely not necessary.

I just asked her, nothing too special. She said 'Well I've already BEEN a flower girl before, so I know what Im doing' lol. She is 5. Then she says 'As long as I get to wear a headband'. kids crack me up.

there is a book about being a flower girl out there, I can't remember the title exactly, maybe you could get that for them and read it with them.

I told their momi who is my FSIL that I wanted them in the wedding so she told the older one who will be 6 in September that she was going to be in my wedding and wear a pretty dress. The younger one is only gonna be 3 in July so she doesnt get it yet, but really didn't do anything special, but the older one came with us the first time i tried on dresses and she tried on flower girls dresses and even tried on one that was a mini-me version of the dress I was trying on. She had a blast trying on dresses with me!

i am going to use this poem. i will either put it in a two sided frame to put a picture in after the wedding and the handkerchief (sp?)

--------------------------------------------------------

You are so very young, but the years will pass by
and you'll too be a bride, in the blink of an eye.

While you may not remember, the day that I married,
the part that you played, or the basket you carried.

There will be a day that will burn bright like an ember.
The day you will wed, you will always remember.

So here is a hankie, for the day you will say...
'I need 'something old' for my wedding day'

All My Love Sweetheart.

Such great poems! I think I might buy the girls books and maybe write that poem (without the hanky stuff) on the inside cover. You girls are the best! Thanks!

My friend had personalized cookies made for her flowergirl and ringbearer, very cute especially for young kids
