Spinoff: Kids

Anyone want to wait to have kids or they aren't sure if they want kids, but their parents or FILs are obsessed with you giving them grandkids!?

The FILs are obsessed with having grandkids and seem to think that we will have a baby like 9 months after getting married! FH has told them that isn't going to happen, but they won't let go of the dream They keep talking about how we should have lots of kids and they will be over all the time to see them ()

Not my FIL's, but my mother is OBSESSED

fi's grandma and mom are all about the babies.

At his cousins baby shower 2 years ago, they were all like: 'Laurie's next, Laurie's next'. I almost passed out. I just kept thinking, please stoping saying that! I felt like they were going to jinx me.

Then I spent the rest of the day frantically trying to think of ways to 'un-jinx' myself.

MIL mentions me having kids in passing; I just ignore her. I honestly have no desire to have them, she knows it and still talks about it.

Both my mother and my FMIL are totally nonchalant about us having kids. They both thing they're too young to be grandmothers (my mom is 54, FMIL is 53, so I certainly don't think they're too young). My older sister is going to start trying right after my wedding, and FBIL's wife is already pregnant, so they'd better get used to it!

Of course, whenever my mom sees my cousins kids she gets all weird...I think it's the menopause hormones, but the woman is freakin' bi-polar about it!

FH told them we don't want kids, and they just ignored it and FFIL said he would pay for the kids' hockey if we had them (FH is a huge hockey player). I told my parents we don't want them and my dad said 'well i just feel sorry for you then' - um thanks dad FH told his grandma we weren't thinking of having kids and she said 'you're such a kidder' oh boy - maybe I'll just tell em we are trying and it isn't working to stop their nagging !
