veil was worn over your face because they were arranged marriages.. the groom didnt get a chance to see his bride until it was too late.. since most marriages were contracts of trade with the woman to seal the deal. NOTHING to do with virginity! hehehe
Just like flowers covered the not so pleasant smell of a woman who only bathed once a year.

I am. I llike the way a blusher over the face looks and FI would be sooooo disappointed if I didn't.
ETA: I couldn't care less about the virginity thing.
I think it will be annoying, but FH said he wants it!

Just a one-tier veil for me - no blusher.

I didn't think I would do it either, but when I tried it on with my dress the day I ordered, putting the blusher over my face made me cry. Its just seemed more romantic to me, but its only for the walk down the aisle, not for the whole ceremony.

After seeing women have to cover their face in Afganistan... I was not going to cover mine. It is suppose to represent the father unveiling his virgin bride to the man. Depends how traditional you are

Re: Spinoff of White Wedding
the tradition has nothing to do w/ virginity. back in the day the blusher was worn as a 'wrapping.' the father 'presented' the bride to the groom by removing the blushing and revealing the bride.
nothing to do w/ the whole 'unwrapping the present', but i am not wearing a blusher.
