Spinoff on BP gifts....
Is anyone NOT giving their parents gifts?? My parents don't want anything!! We were not getting gifts for the readers either...and even some of my maids said that it was an honor enough to be asked.....

Thank god but I didn't have to give my parents or his parent's gifts - they said absolutely not and to save our $$ - thank god, b/c the gifts were getting out of control ! We wrote them really nice cards.
I don't think we are getting our parents material gifts. A while back their was a post of poems from me to fmil and from FH to my Mom. I think something sentimental like that. Our parent's helped us out w/the wedding as much as they could. I know they wouldn't want us spending money on gifts. If the parent's are paying for the entire wedding, I think that is a different story though.
We are giving our BP gifts.
We're getting my FI's parents a framed picture of us and my family a photo album. Probably won't cost more than $30, but since they're helping so much I thought it would be nice.
Ok....then if we do framed poems, how do I give one to my father & stepmother and not my real mother...she is not helping at all, I see her just as a guest at my wedding. I am not close to her and frankly, I would be fine if the contact I have with her for the rest of my life is limited.
We are giving our parents one of our engagement pics in a 8x10 frame.
My mom told me NOT to get her anything. She feels that since we are paying so much for the wedding (and doing it on our own) that this is an unnecessary expense. I just got her a 'Mother of the Bride' hanky and that's it.
were giving our parents a frame with a wedding picture of us, and they are getting a parents album of 12 5 x 5's
We gave our moms spa gift certificates and my dad cigars and wine.
No, we are not getting our parents gifts.
