Spinoff on where to register... When to register?

Hi,

When is the right time to register? I'm not getting married until October, so what is the right amount of time.. I dont want to register and pick things out now, and by closer to the wedding everything is discontinued..

well bath towels and linens can be added on about 3 months before the wedding (they are like clothes...colors and style change with the seasons)...we are getting married in MArch and registered back in July!
