Spinoff QOTD: What albums can you listen to from beginning to end...

Original post by Misty

...without skipping songs?

This is a spinoff from yesterday's thread about Janet Jackson's boobies, which turned into all of us ranting about how much music sucks. LOL.

What albums, past and present, can you listen to from beginning to end without skipping songs, and are actually WORTH the price you paid for them?

I'll start:

Old:
U2 - The Joshua Tree - I'd pay $50 for this cd.
Springsteen - Born To Run
The Beatles - Leave me on an island with The White Album and Abbey Road, and come get me in 30 years.
Billy Joel - Cold Spring Harbor, Songs In The Attic, Glass Houses, Greatest Hits 1, 2, and 3.
Led Zeppelin - Just leave me in a room for a week and I'll listen to all of them twice.
Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life

New:

Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Alicia Keyes - Songs In A Minor
Gavin DeGraw - Chariot (this is very new and SO good)
Coldplay - Rush of Blood To The Head

Misty, I am so glad to hear that you like Gavin. I know him. He is a really nice guy and sounds so much better live. He comes in to my bar and plays quite a bit. I am so happy for him. One of his songs is the theme for that show 'One Tree Hill'.

Now to answer the question.

Anything Beatles
Grease
Anything James Taylor
The Best of Mel Torme
Chariot- Gavin DeGraw
and any of my B'Way CDs

(even though I am sick at what U2 has become)

How come?!

I think the best example is in their album called 'pop'...this is so what the old U2 is NOT about...

instead about singing about political movements...massacres...

they are now singing about Lemons...

I saw the Joshua Tree tour and it was fabulous, but I could have thrown up at the Zoo TV tour when someone threw Bono an Irish flag and he picked it up and tossed it down with a look of disgust on his face...

I have not been to another U2 concert since then (1992) and will not...

I know musicians have to evolve and change with the times...but you do not have to lose your values when they were so strong and powerful

Anything Beatles
(Did it so often if I heard just one song on the radio i'd start to humm the next tune at the end of the song cause I knew which was next

Specifically tho:
Beatles - Love Songs
Beatles - Past Masters Volume 2
Beatles - Yellow Submarine SOUNDTRACK
McCartney - Londontown
McCarntey - All the Best
McCartney - Wings over America
McCartney - Ram
McCartney - McCartney
Lorena McKinnet - Hummer's Dance (sp???)

Honestly that's it.. the rest I admit to skipping at LEAST two songs on.

Case in point...
Abbey Road.. even I got tired of 'Because' after awhile and 'Sun King'
White Album.. 'Im so Tired' 'Long, Long, Long' 'Revolution #9'
Yellow Submarine.. some of Side two.. instrumentals (the original Yellow Submarine)

Shamma, you got it down pact. Those are all my favorites. Along with Regina Bell, Peabo Bryson. I have to admit I love Kenny G. And I like this chick from Chicago big hit in the UK called Anastacia, she sounds alot like Taylor Dayne from the 80's. And anything jazzy.
