Spinoff question...

What ideas are you using to determine who the centerpiece will go to for each table?

At one wedding I went to we did something with a napkin and a dollar getting passed around the table, but I don't really remember...

we're letting each table decide for themselves.

I personally HATE taking CPs home... and I know there are others like me, so I don't really wanna put those people on the spot of either having to take it or having to pick someone else to take it.

so we're just going to let the tables fight it out.

should be entertaining with the older ladies... they tend to want those flowers!

I think I'm going to do the RSVP thing, but my dj mentioned to me that you can do closest birthday/anniversary, or he can just go around a put a penny under 1 plate from each table.

I was contemplating the penny thing, but I wanted to be a little choosier in who got CP's without being obvious.

im not a fan of the napkin/dollar thing....

I've been to a 50th birthday party where the person's birthday who was closest to Xmas took home the CP....My bday is xmas so i won!
I prob wont do that idea and i really really hate the napkin idea.
I probably won't do anything for the CPs, let everyone right it out.

BUT, I do plan on buying robotic R2D2 (maybe 4 or 5 of them) and they are gonna go around the hall with drinks intheir little cup holders. They are $200 a pop and i need to think of a creative way to give those away. My FH and i are thinking of trivia...but dunno how to do it.

What about doing star wars trivia?

ETA: Movie trivia?

My DJ has his own thing... which i love...

he has them pass around a napkin in one direction and then a spoon in the opposite direction and then he goes back and forth... who ever has the napkin wins the cp... its actually pretty funny









and whoever has the spoon hands it to the first male on their right or left, which ever... and they have to come up and sign to the bride

We are actually doing a little game because we dont want to have people fight over who takes the CP home.

We are placing a special sticker underneath ONE chair at each table..Then we will instruct our DJ to announce the 'winner' of the CP by having everyone look underneath their Chair for the sticker - whoever has it, takes the CP home!

We plan on doing Star Wars trivia, but dunno if we should have questions on the TV screens and then have people write answers down somewhere....its the logistics of it.

I do really like the sticker idea!

I think it will! If i can figure out a good way to do trivia i might do that, cause i love nerdy stuff like that

Maybe I will give it to the oldest person at each table to make sure my Grandmas get them!

This is what I am doing....tho I'm tempted to do whoever's anniversary is closer to my wedding date as there are certain people I want to get it.

Is it rude if I do that, since that would automatically exclude anyone single?

I went to a wedding where they gave they had the DJ ask a question, I think it was 'where did the groom propose to the bride' and whoever said it outloud first at the table got the centerpiece. The centerpiece was a crappy bottle of wine, so no one really cared if they won.
