spinoff to all the tradition posts

I thought it might be fun to list all your cultural traditions for our weddings... this way it'll be fun and informative....! Me first

I'm korean-american and at our wedding i will be incorporating traditions such as

1. pae beck (bowing ceremony) to our parents
2. my mom will wear the traditional hanbok at the church
3. i'll use wedding ducks that symbolize fidelity as wedding favors

But i'm also incorporating the jewish tradition of walking down the aisle with both my parents and having FH walk down with his as well as the wedding party....

FH and i are both chinese so there are lots of traditions we're doing. here are some of them:

-traditionally, the groom's family pays for the wedding (in our case, FH is paying for most of it, with my parents and I paying a small amount)
-we're donig a tea ceremony where we bow to all of our relatives, present them with cups of tea, and get money and jewelry in return
-FH is delivering a roasted pig, and gift certificate cards to a chinese bakery to my parents when our invitations are done (my parents will then divide everything up and share it with all of their relatives and friends)
-i am wearing a traditional qipao (red dress) at the reception

the tradition in poland is that the brides parents pay for al the wedding but since we are here and we both have only our moms ,...we are splitting the cost and paying for each other guests....

Im Polish and FH is half Italian and half Czech and Spanish. One of the Polish traditions that we're incorporating is the blessing which will be performed by my mom after we walk in into the reception hall, and it will be done with bread and salt.

Also, in the Polish tradition, when the couple walks out of the church, people throw money (change-and no we wont get clocked in the head with a quarter) at your feet...it symbolizes good luck and wealth.

i'll be wearing a red one. yeps, we're having a traditional chinese banquet but we'll be 'americanizing' a lot of it (including the types of food)

I know some fun italian traditions... like in Italy the bride doesn't carry flowers, she carries a 'money' bag and also 5 jordan almonds are given as favors, each piece representing something...

No-we throw it right back at our guests...

Its a symbolic change that yes we'll probably keep...we're also having rose petals for the 'American' side...
