I know when my parents go to weddings they always write the check out to Mr. and Mrs. John Smith or John and Jane Smith. Now my bank account is in my maiden name. How do I sign and deposted these checks? Do I sign my maiden name or do I sign Jane Smith. and does FH and I both have to sign the check or can just 1 of us?

Re: spinoff to bank question
I'm not sure of how you'd sign the check, but I know that I was told that you make the check out to the person who youre attending the wedding for. When I was in my friends wedding I made the check out to her (first name, maiden name)

Re: spinoff to bank question
if you sign Jane MaidenName Smith, you should be ok
if the check is addressed to both of you, you will both need to endorse it.

I think most checks should be made out to one or the other person. I've heard a lot of people saying most checks are made out to DH just to avoid confusion on this exact topic. If you bring your marriage license and your current id, you should be fine.

Re: spinoff to bank question
We plan on opening an account in both our names (my married name) so we will each have our own account and a joint account......We should be covered by doing this lol
