Spinoff to Best and Worst Xpost

1) What was the best wedding you ever attended and what made it so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it's good feel free to compliment RH!!!!!!!!!!

2) What was the worst wedding you have ever attended and why was it so unsuccessful? Please don't name RH sites, we do not want to offend anyone, I just want to kind of get a consensus about this.

Re: Spinoff to Best and Worst Xpost

Every wedding that I have ever been to has the been both the worst AND the best....

Worst - because i was with my exes and their families...

Best - because there was an open bar every time

Re: Spinoff to Best and Worst Xpost

The worst weddings I've ever been to have been those that had really bad food (you should not compromise food quality for your guests), terrible entertainment, and even worse disorganization. It is the bride's job pre-wedding to make sure everybody knows where they're going and what they're doing at all times of the day....and the bride's that don't think certain logistics through are the ones that ended up with a messy day. I know its stressful, but it really pays off to think things through. The best weddings have been those that are the total opposite of what I just wrote. I remember weddings that had great food, and great entertainment...all else starts to get blurry after a while.

BEST - every wedding i've ever been to had some amazing things about it. The Mashed Potato bar at Westbury Manor was AMAZING ... a ceremony at my friend's wedding was extremely touching .... Viennese hour ANYWHERE lol

WORST - the worst wedding had food that was just not that good. it was disappointing.

Best: My brothers wedding (his RH was in Jersey & was 9 yrs ago so I have no memory as to the name). The cocktail hr was actual 1 1/2 hrs. The food was AMAZING, they had every and I mean every station that the RH offered. The band was OUT OF THE WORLD and I really dont remember too much aside from how the food, band & drinks were b/c I camped out @ the bar all night .

Worst: My exes best friend in Buffalo. It was at some hotel....about 8 yrs ago so I have no memory. It was in April or May and it was in a tent and was FRRREEEEZZIIINNNGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was cold for the complete ceremony and the reception. I honestly remember drinking like a fish b/c all I wanted to do was get drunk so I would warm up........I was so cold that I couldnt catch a buzz!!!!!

Best- the last wedding I went to. It was at the Tappan Hill Mansion and the catering was done by Abigail Kirsch. The place was beautiful and food was simply amazing! Also, the groom and bride were very, very good host- they did their greetings during cocktail hour, but then during the reception they made a point of chatting with tables, pulling people on the dance floor, introducing other guest to each other ect..they simply made being there feel like such a treat!

Worst- In contradiction to the best the hosts at this wedding seemed to hardly care that many of their guest had travelled quit a distance to get there- they barely greeted anyone. But the worst part was their was hardly any food at the cocktail hour- by the time dinner was served I was beyond famished (and tipsy-lol)!

Worst- Vinyard in Long Island.

~~~~Bride issue worst wedding, not the venue~~
For the ONLY REASON:::: The bride HAD to have her wedding outside at noon in July. It was so F'ing hot I cant even remember one word said at the wedding. It was SUCH a shame because i know how long she had been waiting. All we kept thinking was 'is it over so I can get out of the sun??'
We were sweating and miserable during the ceremony. My FH got a little sunburned and was just gross by the time the CH started.
And the CH was outside (but covered). 30 min into it everyone was inside trying to get out of the heat!!
The place did an AMAZING job tho. Food was great. The place is lovely, and the CH had such a spread. The waiters were way fab and all around great space.
These are some great responses!!!!! I thought it might give brides ideas in making their weddings more successful and help them prevent certain things!!!!!!!!!
Re: Spinoff to Best and Worst Xpost
I can't narrow it down to a best and worst per say - but I will tell you this:
Best Food - Land's End
Most Creative - 'Surprise Wedding' - it was supposed to be an engagement party... until the got married on the dance floor at the beginning of the reception! Also loved my cousin's wedding who got married on a plantation in MD (a tented wedding).
Best Cake - The Sandcastle's baker -- strawberry banana filling!
FH was recently in a wedding that I was so not excited for, which def put me in a certain mindset... No cohesive 'theme' - invites, flowers, color scheme, CP, favors - nothing went with anything else. Very random. It was on a Sunday night - no offense ladies but at like 10pm I'm all like 'Um, can we go now?'
The BEST wedding I've been to was at Giorgio's. The cocktail hour was amazing, so many choices, and from what I remember, the entree was great too. No wedding I have been to since has come close to this one. Also, the bride and groom had a very touching, personalized ceremony outside.
The WORST wedding I ever attended was in Rochester in some hotel. I learned that night that in Rochester (and probably all over upstate NY), no one goes on the dance floor until the bride and groom dance their first dance, and they didn't dance until after the entree was served. Also, there was zero cocktail hour. The entrees were cold and terrible. And because of religious customs, they open bar was closed for much of the meal portion and didn't open up again until the dancing.
My WORST was at a hotel in Rochester too! It was cash bar INCLUDING soda, so I had to pay for my own diet coke. There was no CH, the food was cold and no one danced.
The best wedding I went to I dont really remember bc I was wasted!!!! lol......
The worst wedding I went to was a sunday night...it ****** bc dinner wasnt served till about 10:30 pm and it was about 1hr drive so we had to leave right after dinner bc of work the next day. No one danced at this wedding (the band was horrible) and our table was full of snotty b***hes.
I thiink a good wedding is what you make of it. If the music is good and all your firends are around (and you have fun friends) your def gonna have a good time no matter what!
Worst wedding:
A friend of mine in BK.
DJ stunk
food stunk
caked stunk
favor's stunk
Bride and groom didn't even look like they had any fun
It was horrible.
My table was full of weirdo's. Not funny weirdo's, weird weirdo's. UGH. I told my buddy my plan for my wedding is to just do opposite whatever he did.
PS they are now divorced, made it 6 months
